Resty Kyomukama Magezi
Resty is a PhD student in Gender Studies at Makerere University, bringing a wealth of experience in advancing sexual and reproductive health rights, preventing and responding to gender-based violence, and promoting inclusion in complex humanitarian and development settings. With a strong academic background in Development Studies, Human Rights, and Gender, she has worked extensively with marginalized communities, including female sex workers, LGBTQI+, and adolescent girls and young women. Her expertise spans program management, resource mobilization, and partnership building, with a focus on community-based, gender-responsive approaches. Having worked in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia with various academic and INGO institutions, she is dedicated to safeguarding the rights of women and girls at risk through research, advocacy, and capacity strengthening. Currently, she serves as Director of Programs at the Alliance of Women Advocating for Change (AWAC), driving gender-transformative interventions and services for vulnerable populations.
